The events started at Govindarajapuram at about 3.30 pm when Brahmasri Parameshwaran Namboodiri, fondly called as Tirumeni, arrived at the Namadwaar Kendra, Palakkad. Tirumeni was simplicity personified. A few of the invitees had already arrived and they rose to welcome Tirumeni.
After a small refreshment to overcome a tiresome journey from Guruvayur on a abnormally hot day, Tirumeni appeared fresh and was joyful to see the crowd. Dr Vasudevan performed the due poojas to his Aradhana Moorthy and once the deeparadhanai was performed, it was time for the start of events. About 60-75 people had assembled at the venue.
Sri GV Venkitesh, President, Govindarajapuram Grama Jana Samooham, welcomed all on behalf of GOD and as well as the Grama Samooham. He announced the name of special invitees, who were honored with ‘Ponnadai’.
The list of people honored during the ceremony included Sri NN Ramachandran, CA (Retd) & Member Kerala Brahmana Sabhai, Sri Ananthakrishna Bhattachariar, the senior most citizen of the village at the age of 96, Adv Sri Narayanamurti, Adv (Retd), Sri Ananthasubramanian, our Landlord of the Namadwaar centre, Sri Ramamoorthy Bhattachariar, chief priest of GR Puram temple.
Sri NN Ramachandran was invited to say a few words about Namadwaar. Sri NNR who is an ardent follower of Guruji Sri Muralidhara Swamiji, spoke about the beauty and simplicity in Sri Guruji’s discourses. He further said remarked about the simplicity of Sri Parameshwaran Namboodiri, of whom he had earlier acquaintance.
Adv Sri Narayanamurti emphasized the need of commitment on part of youngsters in establishing the Sanatana Dharma and he expressed his happiness in associating with the centre which he believed will be catalyst in the efforts to follow dharma.
A brief introduction about GOD was given by Mr Venkataraghavan.
The time came up for the lighting of the lamps. The first wick was lighted by Tirumeni himself and the others were lighted by Sri NNR, Sri Ramamoorthy Bhattachariar, Sri Ananthasubramanian and Sri SS Ramakrishnan. With this the Tirumeni announced the inauguration of Namdwaar, Palakkad.
The Tirumeni gave a wonderful exposition of Bhakthi and Namasankeerthanam in an hour long Satsang. The live examples he gave from our day to day life were apt and matching to the situation. He blessed the Bhaktas who were present for the occasion and he wished all success in our efforts to establish Bhagavatha Dharmam.
Neivedhyam was offered to the lord & the same was distributed after the Deeparadhanai.
A Nagarsankeerthanam was organized after the deeparadhanai. The same started from the Namadwaar and culminated at the Temple, following which Deeparadhanai was performed at the temple.
Thus Namadwaar Palakkad has commenced its efforts in establishing Bhagavatha Dharma in and around Palakkad.
